The first game I ever remember having a new game plus was Chrono Trigger, and they handled it superbly. Being able to beat the game at almost any point with a different ending was brilliant. I always wished they did this with Final Fantasy.

This wraps up the long, 3 comic story of Nega-Trevor visiting our evil timeline. His native timeline has some flaws, but they’re a small price to pay to live in a world of Dinosaur Presidents and loot box free games.

Square Enix must not have that much faith in the Chrono franchise. People were genuinely excited about Chrono Trigger on Steam for all of about a half hour before people started realizing it was a practically unchanged port of the mobile version. Of course, this is going to drive sales down and who knows what Square Enix’s takeaway is going to be from it, but it probably won’t be “invest millions in a new entry.”

Today is Friday, October 27th, which means a new Mario, Wolfenstein, and Ass Creed is coming out today along with a new season of Stranger Things. With all that… I decided to make a comic about 20+ year old video games and their inventory caps.

I would imagine this had to happen at least 45 times in Chrono Trigger. You don’t do some time killing and not expect so sperm to not get where they were supposed to go.

If SquareEnix decided to make figures for older games like Chrono Trigger and FF6, they would own my wallet. We get another Cloud so they can release him again at their new high price standard. Yay.
